CD Projekt Red has officially confirmed that the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 will not be arriving as originally planned. In an announcement posted on the studio’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, the developers stated that the update, which was initially scheduled to release on June 26, has been postponed to an unspecified date. The delay comes as the studio says it requires additional time to finalize the patch and ensure it meets internal standards.
The post from CD Projekt Red reads: “We need some more time to make sure we’re happy with it.” The message was brief and did not include any revised timeline for the update’s release, nor did it provide specific information on what players can expect from the patch.
While details remain scarce, the studio did confirm that the content of Update 2.3 will be similar in scale to the previous Update 2.2, which rolled out in December 2024. That patch introduced several new features and addressed a wide range of gameplay issues. Notably, Update 2.2 added enhanced vehicle customization options, a new version of photo mode, and expanded character appearance settings. It also delivered various quality-of-life improvements and general bug fixes.
Given the confirmation that Update 2.3 will follow a similar pattern, players can likely expect another round of gameplay improvements, visual refinements, and minor system enhancements. However, the lack of mention of any new story-driven content or large-scale gameplay additions indicates that this update may focus more on polishing existing elements rather than expanding the game’s narrative or core features.
