External graphics cards are getting faster, and UGREEN is taking advantage of Thunderbolt 5 with a new eGPU dock designed to handle modern desktop graphics cards. The company has launched its first Thunderbolt 5 graphics card expansion dock, combining Thunderbolt 5, OCuLink, and an 850W power supply in a single enclosure.
The UGREEN Thunderbolt 5 graphics card dock is priced at $499.99 USD. Its main connection uses Thunderbolt 5, offering transfer speeds of up to 80Gbps, while the dedicated graphics connection provides up to 64Gbps of bandwidth. The dock is also compatible with USB4 and Thunderbolt 4/3 systems, giving users more flexibility when connecting it to different computers.
For graphics cards, UGREEN says the dock supports mainstream models from NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel. It can accommodate cards up to 370mm long by default, making room for many full-size desktop GPUs. The inclusion of OCuLink also gives users another connection option for systems that support the interface.
Power comes from a built-in 850W 80 Plus Gold-rated PSU based on the ATX 3.1 standard. The dock includes a 12V-2×6 connector for newer GeForce RTX 40 and RTX 50 series graphics cards, while PD 3.1 support allows up to 140W of power delivery to a compatible laptop.
UGREEN has also included three Thunderbolt 5 ports with daisy-chain support, allowing users to connect additional Thunderbolt devices without giving up the dock’s main functionality. The company says the dock can also be used with UGREEN NAS hardware acceleration, where the connected GPU can help increase computing performance for Docker containers and other workloads.
The dock supports both Windows and Linux and uses an all-aluminum chassis. With a high-power internal PSU and support for current desktop GPUs, the new UGREEN eGPU dock is aimed at laptop and compact PC users who want to add dedicated graphics without moving to a traditional desktop build. At 3,489 yuan, it is positioned as a premium Thunderbolt 5 graphics expansion option.
