UGREEN is preparing to bring a new high-performance docking solution to market with its upcoming Thunderbolt 5 hard drive enclosure docking station. The new device adopts a compact 10-in-1 design and combines storage expansion, high-speed connectivity, and multi-display output in a single unit aimed at professionals and creators who need fast data transfer and flexible workstation setups. The product is priced at 1555 yuan in China, which converts to roughly $210 USD.
The device is built around Intel’s certified JHL9480 controller, which enables full Thunderbolt 5 performance. It delivers transfer speeds of up to 120Gbps, positioning it among the fastest external docking solutions in its class. The dock also supports asymmetric bandwidth up to 120Gbps and symmetric bandwidth of 80Gbps, helping balance different workloads such as large file transfers and real-time media editing. According to UGREEN, a 150GB file can be transferred in approximately 25 seconds under ideal conditions.
The front panel is equipped with three USB-A 3.2 ports, offering support for legacy peripherals such as keyboards, external drives, and accessories. It also includes an SD/TF 4.0 card reader, which is particularly useful for photographers and content creators who frequently move large media files from cameras and drones.
On the rear side, the dock expands connectivity further with two Thunderbolt 5 ports, one DisplayPort 2.1 output, and a USB-C power input supporting 65W Power Delivery. This setup allows users to connect multiple devices and power a compatible laptop through a single connection, reducing cable clutter on the desk.
Storage flexibility is handled through an integrated M.2 NVMe slot located at the bottom of the unit. It supports multiple form factors, including 2280, 2260, 2242, and 2230 SSDs, along with both M Key and B&M Key standards. This makes it compatible with a wide range of SSD options available on the market.
For display output, the docking station supports up to 8K resolution at 60Hz or dual 6K displays at 60Hz, depending on the configuration. This makes it suitable for high-resolution editing workflows, multi-monitor productivity setups, and advanced creative tasks.
To maintain stable performance under heavy load, UGREEN has integrated a triple-layer heat dissipation system designed to manage thermals during sustained high-speed data transfers and continuous usage.
