Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming Tomb Raider: Catalyst has been delayed to 2028, with Amazon Games confirming a new release window for the next major Lara Croft adventure. The game was originally expected to launch in 2027, but it will now arrive after Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, which has also been pushed back to February 2027.
Both new Tomb Raider projects were revealed during The Game Awards 2025. Crystal Dynamics announced Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis as a reimagining of the original Tomb Raider adventure, while Tomb Raider: Catalyst was introduced as a new entry in the long-running franchise.

Amazon Games General Manager Jeffrey Gattis confirmed the updated schedule during an interview with The Game Business, explaining that Legacy of Atlantis will launch on February 12, 2027, followed by the next Tomb Raider title in 2028.
“Atlantis comes February 12 next year, and then we’ll follow on in 2028 with the next one. We’re excited about those.”
Amazon has not shared a specific release date for Tomb Raider: Catalyst yet, but the company confirmed that both upcoming Tomb Raider games will be available through Amazon Luna, its cloud gaming platform.

The decision is part of Amazon’s plan to strengthen Luna with major gaming franchises. According to Gattis, games such as Tomb Raider and the upcoming 007: First Light are important for helping Luna attract more subscribers by offering recognizable titles.

Amazon has recently expanded Luna’s reach by including the cloud gaming service with Prime Video subscriptions on Fire TV devices. The company is also competing in a growing cloud gaming market, where Microsoft has introduced a free ad-supported Xbox Cloud Gaming tier to bring more players into its ecosystem.
