Thermalright has announced the Assassin Classic-6 SE Black, a new tower-style air CPU cooler aimed at users looking for a traditional cooling solution for desktop processors. The latest addition to the company’s cooling portfolio combines a familiar heatsink design with modern fan technology, offering an option for builders who prefer conventional air cooling over more complex alternatives.
The Assassin Classic-6 SE Black features an aluminum fin-stack construction designed to efficiently dissipate heat from the processor. Rather than applying a black coating across the entire heatsink, Thermalright has retained the natural aluminum finish of the fins. The top section is covered by a die-cast metal plate that gives the cooler a cleaner appearance while maintaining its classic design approach.

At its base, the cooler uses a heatpipe direct-touch design that places the heatpipes in direct contact with the CPU surface. Thermalright has equipped the cooler with six 6 mm nickel-plated copper heatpipes that transfer heat away from the processor and into the fin array. This configuration is commonly used in performance-focused air coolers to improve thermal transfer efficiency.
Cooling is handled by the included TL-NT12 120 mm fan. The fan uses an acute-angled blade design and hydraulic bearings, while rubber pads on the frame help reduce vibration during operation. Support for 4-pin PWM control allows the fan speed to automatically adjust according to system temperatures.

According to Thermalright, the TL-NT12 fan can reach speeds of up to 1,850 RPM. It is rated for airflow of up to 84.5 CFM and delivers a maximum static pressure of 2.38 mm H₂O, helping push air through the heatsink’s fin structure. The company also lists a maximum noise level of 30.02 dBA.
With the fan installed, the Assassin Classic-6 SE Black measures 124 mm x 82 mm x 152 mm, making it suitable for a wide range of mid-tower PC cases, subject to individual chassis clearance limitations.
