Thermal Grizzly Launches Duronaut Pro and Hydronaut Pro Thermal Pastes With Improved Performance

Thermal Grizzly has announced two new thermal interface materials (TIMs), Duronaut Pro and Hydronaut Pro. The new thermal pastes are designed to offer improved cooling performance compared to the previous versions while focusing on better durability and long-term performance.

Thermal Grizzly developed both products for users who need reliable heat transfer between processors, graphics cards, and cooling solutions. The company says the new Pro versions improve thermal conductivity by changing the material composition and adjusting how the paste spreads between surfaces.

Duronaut Pro is positioned as the company’s highest-performing non-liquid metal thermal paste. Thermal Grizzly measured performance using a temperature difference method that also considers mounting pressure, giving a more practical comparison between different TIM solutions.

The paste uses a combination of silicone oil, aluminum powder, and zinc oxide powder. The particle size distribution has been adjusted to improve contact between the cooler and the heat source. This design helps reduce the amount of paste needed while maintaining proper coverage.

According to Thermal Grizzly, Duronaut Pro also reduces the pump-out effect, which happens when thermal paste slowly moves away from the contact area after repeated temperature changes. Better adhesion helps keep the thermal compound in place over longer usage periods.

Key details of Duronaut Pro include:

  • Non-liquid metal thermal interface material
  • Formula based on silicone oil, aluminum powder, and zinc oxide powder
  • Improved particle distribution for better contact
  • Reduced pump-out effect
  • Available in 2g, 6g, and 30g versions
  • Pricing starts at €17.90 for the 2g package

The second product, Hydronaut Pro, uses a different approach with a silicone-free formula. Thermal Grizzly designed this thermal paste for environments where silicone-based materials may cause compatibility issues.

By removing silicone oil from the formula, Hydronaut Pro avoids silicone-related pump-out effects. The company says this makes it suitable for industrial applications and systems that require stable thermal performance over extended periods.

Hydronaut Pro will be available in the following versions:

  • 2g package priced at €14.90
  • 6g package priced at €24.90
  • 30g package priced at €49.90

With Duronaut Pro and Hydronaut Pro, Thermal Grizzly is expanding its thermal paste lineup with options for different cooling requirements. Duronaut Pro focuses on achieving lower temperatures for high-performance PC builds, while Hydronaut Pro targets users looking for a silicone-free thermal compound for specialized applications.
