A brief list of specifications and rated performance figures is printed on the back for quick reference. Inside the box, only the SSD is included, secured in a clamshell plastic tray to protect it during transport, with no extra accessories provided.

The TeamGroup NV5000 uses a standard 2280 form factor, measuring 80 mm in length, 22 mm in width, and 5 mm in thickness. A graphene sticker on the front provides essential information, including the drive’s capacity, serial number, and model name. Removing this sticker will void the warranty, so care is needed during installation.

Under the graphene layer, the SSD features a simple layout with four 3D QLC NAND chips and a Realtek RTS5772DL controller. This 8-channel DRAM-less controller operates at 0.8V, offering a maximum sequential speed of 5000 MB/s. The NAND uses Intel’s 144-layer design, and the SSD has an endurance rating of 640 TBW with a mean time between failures of around 2 million hours.

The graphene sticker also acts as a thermal pad, helping to dissipate heat from the controller and memory chips without affecting compatibility with motherboard heatsinks. For performance testing, the TeamGroup NV5000 2TB SSD was installed in the primary PCIe Gen4 M.2 slot of the MAXSUN iCraft Z890 ARCTIC DDR5 motherboard, paired with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K processor and 48 GB of DDR5-8000 memory. This slot connects directly to the CPU, providing full PCIe 4.0 x4 bandwidth and eliminating potential bottlenecks from chipset routing. A combination of synthetic benchmarks and real-world file transfers was used to evaluate both peak throughput and day-to-day performance under controlled thermal conditions.

The NV5000 supports SMART monitoring, TRIM, PCIe Gen4x4, and NVMe 1.4 standards. CrystalDiskInfo reports idle temperatures around 42°C and peak temperatures up to 59°C under heavy load. While these values are safe, proper airflow or a heatsink is recommended for sustained workloads. With 1.86 TB of usable space, all benchmarks were run on a blank drive to provide accurate performance measurements.

In CrystalDiskMark, the drive achieved sequential read speeds of 5,201.62 MB/s and write speeds of 5,152.75 MB/s (SEQ1M Q8T1). Random 4K performance, which reflects daily OS and software responsiveness, measured 70.62 MB/s read and 270.87 MB/s write (RND4K Q1T1). These results indicate the drive handles both large file transfers and small file operations efficiently.

AS SSD testing shows sequential read and write speeds of 4,085.75 MB/s and 4,195.91 MB/s. Multi-threaded 4K-64Thrd performance reached over 415,000 IOPS for reads and 545,000 IOPS for writes. The copy benchmark transferred ISO files at 3,584.57 MB/s, with access times of 0.017–0.018 ms. The overall AS SSD score approached 6,000, confirming strong performance for gaming and professional workloads.

ATTO testing highlights a consistent performance curve, particularly for writes. Write speeds scale quickly, reaching over 4.6 GB/s at 64 KB blocks and peaking near 4.79 GB/s from 8 MB onwards. Read speeds ramp up more gradually, converging with writes around the 512 KB–1 MB block size range at roughly 4.7–4.8 GB/s. IOPS results peak at 203K writes and 25.7K reads at 512 B, tapering with larger block sizes, showing the drive is optimized for both small file operations and sustained large transfers.

In Anvil’s testing, the NV5000 scored a total of 18,933.80, with a read score of 6,769.84 and a write score of 12,163.96. Sequential 4 MB transfers reached 3,276.80 MB/s read and 4,357.45 MB/s write. Random 4K performance measured 62.36 MB/s read and 234.05 MB/s write, while QD16 writes peaked at 1,581.05 MB/s (404,749 IOPS). Latency remained low, with 4K writes at 0.0167 ms, supporting fast OS and software operations.

TxBENCH results show sequential speeds of 4,910.82 MB/s read and 5,136.37 MB/s write at QD32T1. Random 4K Q1T1 testing recorded 62.04 MB/s read and 240.91 MB/s write, while deeper queue depths (QD32T1) increased read/write performance to 700.97 MB/s and 657.28 MB/s. These results confirm that the controller manages multiple simultaneous requests effectively.
