PUBG Studios has announced that support for PUBG: Battlegrounds on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will officially end on November 13, 2025. After that date, the game will only be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
The change follows the company’s 2025 development roadmap, which includes a shift toward focusing resources on current-generation hardware. According to PUBG Studios, the transition is intended to deliver a more stable gameplay environment and ensure the game is ready for upcoming updates.

The studio addressed the decision in a statement on its official website, highlighting that while it was a difficult choice, it is necessary for the long-term growth of PUBG on consoles. The announcement also acknowledged the contributions and loyalty of players on last-generation systems over the past eight years.
Player Account Migration
All existing player accounts on PS4 and Xbox One will remain preserved after November 13, 2025. Players upgrading to PS5 or Xbox Series X/S will be able to log in and continue their progress without a separate transfer process.
For PlayStation users, the PS5-native version of the game must be downloaded to continue playing, as the PS4 edition will remain a separate application and will no longer function after the cutoff date.
Performance Enhancements on Current-Gen Consoles
The transition to newer platforms will bring notable improvements in performance and resolution. On PS5, PUBG: Battlegrounds will run at 1440p resolution with a 60FPS target, while PS5 Pro owners will get a full 4K resolution at 60FPS. Xbox Series X players will also receive a 4K/60FPS experience.
On Xbox Series S, players can choose between 1080p at 60FPS or 1440p at 30FPS, allowing flexibility based on performance preferences.
Looking Ahead
PUBG Studios has emphasized that the shift is part of its broader strategy to keep the game competitive and future-ready. By concentrating on the latest hardware, the development team aims to deliver smoother gameplay, better visual fidelity, and support for new content updates without the limitations of older systems.
With this move, PUBG joins a growing list of games that are phasing out support for last-generation consoles, signaling the continued industry shift toward current-gen platforms as the primary focus for development.
