Pimax has officially revealed the final specifications, pricing, and availability for its Micro-OLED product line, which includes three models: Dream Air SE, Dream Air, and Crystal Super Micro-OLED. The company had previously introduced the headsets earlier this year, and with today’s update, pre-orders are now open ahead of shipment later in 2025.
Micro-OLED displays are known for their ability to deliver higher pixel density, deeper black levels, and improved contrast compared to traditional LCD panels. Until now, wider adoption of the technology in VR has been limited by issues such as heat management and scaling at higher resolutions. Pimax states it has addressed these challenges using its ConcaveView pancake optics, enabling the company to introduce consumer-ready headsets rather than limited prototypes.
Product Lineup
Dream Air SE

The Dream Air SE is designed as a lightweight all-in-one headset. Weighing under 140 grams, it delivers a resolution of 2560 × 2560 per eye, supported by Tobii eye-tracking and dynamic foveated rendering. The headset also features 6DOF SLAM tracking and integrated spatial audio. Priced at $899, it aims to bring Micro-OLED VR technology to a wider audience of gamers and digital creators.
Dream Air

Positioned as the world’s smallest full-feature 8K VR headset, the Dream Air provides 3840 × 3552 resolution per eye, equaling over 27 million pixels in total. Despite its compact size, weighing under 170 grams, it offers a field of view of 110 degrees horizontally and over 120 degrees diagonally. The design seeks to balance portability with high-resolution visuals for users seeking mobility without reducing image quality.
Crystal Super Micro-OLED

Serving as Pimax’s flagship, the Crystal Super Micro-OLED delivers a 116-degree horizontal field of view and a diagonal field of view exceeding 128 degrees, marking the widest achieved with Micro-OLED optics to date. As part of the modular Crystal ecosystem, it supports interchangeable optical engines, including Ultrawide, 57 PPD clarity, and Micro-OLED modules. The model is positioned for enthusiasts and professional simulation users who require flexibility and visual precision.
Availability and Customer Support
Pre-orders for all three models are now live through Pimax, with shipments expected later in the year. Early buyers will receive additional items, including prescription lens frames and a complimentary copy of Le Mans Ultimate. All products are backed by the Pimax Prime program, which ensures after-sales support and continuous software updates. Furthermore, a limited quantity of prototype Micro-OLED optical engines will be made available on loan to early Crystal Super adopters.
Market Impact
By launching a complete lineup of Micro-OLED VR headsets with pancake optics, Pimax becomes the only company currently delivering this combination at scale. The introduction of the Dream Air SE, Dream Air, and Crystal Super Micro-OLED confirms that Micro-OLED technology has progressed from early prototypes to finalized products ready for broader adoption. This development positions Pimax to play a key role in shaping the next stage of consumer and professional VR hardware.
