Phanteks is preparing to launch a new mid-tower PC Case, likely to be named the Evolv S2. This model will serve as a more compact version of the Evolv X2, keeping much of the same design and layout while reducing the overall size.
The Evolv S2 retains the three-panel glass layout—tempered glass panels on both sides and the front—carried over from the X2. The aluminum frame on the top and bottom of the case is also unchanged. These elements give the case a familiar look while helping to maintain durability.
Fan support appears to remain consistent with the X2. The Evolv S2 will support three intake fans mounted behind the front panel, along with a rear exhaust fan. This setup suggests that Phanteks intends to deliver similar airflow performance despite the reduced dimensions.
There are some visible changes in the lower part of the case. The Evolv X2 featured a raised base design that also housed the front I/O ports. In the Evolv S2, this raised section has been removed. Instead, the case uses a standard flat-foot design. The front I/O has been moved to the left front foot, which now houses the USB ports, audio jacks, and power button.
Internal layout changes include the number of expansion slots. The Evolv S2 has seven horizontal expansion slots, down from the eight found in the X2. This change aligns with the smaller size of the chassis. Despite that, the case still supports ATX motherboards and should accommodate full-size graphics cards and standard power supplies.
While the final specifications and pricing have not been confirmed, the Evolv S2 appears to target users who liked the Evolv X2’s design but prefer a smaller case. It keeps the key features—glass panels, aluminum structure, and front-to-back airflow—while adjusting the size and layout for more compact builds.
Phanteks has not announced an official release date. More details, including pricing and availability, are expected in the near future.
