A 16,000mAh battery is usually enough to make a smartphone thick and heavy, but Oukitel is taking a different approach with the new WP70 Ultra. The rugged 5G smartphone combines a massive silicon-carbon battery with a 120Hz AMOLED screen, a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor, and specialist cameras designed for outdoor use.
The WP70 Ultra is aimed at users who need a phone that can keep running for long periods away from a power outlet. Oukitel says the silicon-carbon battery technology allows the company to fit 16,000mAh of capacity into a slimmer design while still providing enough power for GPS navigation, photography, streaming and gaming.

Charging is handled by a 66W fast-charging system, which should make topping up the large battery more practical. The phone also supports 5G connectivity through the 2.8GHz MediaTek Dimensity 7200, giving it a modern platform for gaming, multitasking and everyday applications.
The display is another area where Oukitel has moved beyond the typical rugged-phone formula. The WP70 Ultra features a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,000 nits of brightness. The higher refresh rate should provide smoother scrolling and animations, while the AMOLED panel is better suited to movies, games, and general media consumption.
Oukitel is also focusing heavily on cameras and outdoor tools. The phone includes a 108MP AI main camera for regular photography and a 64MP night vision camera for low-light environments. More unusual is the integrated thermal imaging system, which can detect heat signatures and temperature differences in darkness, smoke, fog, and other difficult conditions.

Other features include Android 16, dual-frequency GPS, and military-grade protection, giving the WP70 Ultra a feature set aimed at users working or travelling in demanding environments.

With the WP70 Ultra, Oukitel is targeting outdoor explorers, field workers and users who place battery life and durability above the compact designs found on conventional flagship phones. Its combination of a 16,000mAh battery, AMOLED display, 5G hardware and specialist imaging tools also gives it a broader feature set than many rugged smartphones.
Pricing, availability, and full dimensions will be important factors when assessing the WP70 Ultra against other rugged phones. For now, the hardware shows that Oukitel is focusing on endurance without giving up features normally associated with mainstream smartphones.
