Logitech has announced the launch of the Signature Slim Solar+ K980 series, a new line of wireless keyboards powered by light. The lineup includes the Signature Slim Solar+ K980 and the Signature Slim Solar+ K980 for Business, both designed to provide cable-free convenience while reducing the need for regular charging.
The Signature Slim Solar+ series is built on Logitech’s Logi LightCharge technology, which combines a light-absorbing strip with a rechargeable battery. Once fully charged, the keyboard can function for up to four months in total darkness. According to Logitech, the rechargeable battery is designed to last up to ten years, removing the need for frequent replacements.
The keyboard features a slim, low-profile design with a full-size layout and number pad. It uses scissor-switch keys for a laptop-style typing experience and includes multi-device compatibility, allowing users to switch typing between up to three devices using Easy-Switch keys. It supports Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS.
Through the Logi Options+ software, users can customize the function keys, set smart actions, and assign shortcuts. The keyboard also includes an AI Launch Key, giving users quick access to productivity tools, though this feature is not available on the Mac version.
As part of Logitech’s Design for Sustainability program, the graphite version of the keyboard incorporates 70% certified post-consumer recycled plastic. The use of long-lasting rechargeable batteries is intended to reduce electronic waste and support environmental responsibility.
The Signature Slim Solar+ K980 for Business includes features tailored for IT management. It uses a Logi Bolt USB-C receiver for secure wireless connectivity in office environments and integrates with Logitech Sync, giving IT teams the ability to monitor device status and updates remotely. Employees can also customize up to 23 programmable shortcut keys to streamline their work.
