LIAN LI Launches LANCOOL 217 Mid-Tower Case with Real Wood Accents and Enhanced Cooling Features

LIAN LI has officially introduced the LANCOOL 217, a new mid-tower chassis designed as the direct successor to the LANCOOL 216. Aimed at PC builders seeking both airflow performance and visual refinement, the LANCOOL 217 blends functional enhancements with a touch of natural materials, featuring real wood paneling and a number of thoughtful design updates. The case is available in black with walnut accents and white with beech wood accents, priced at $119.99 and $124.99, respectively.

The LANCOOL 217 introduces real wood as a design element, adding a natural touch that enhances its minimalist aesthetic. The wooden accents contribute to a warmer, more refined look while preserving airflow efficiency. This thoughtful design choice makes the case well-suited for modern home or office settings without compromising cooling performance.

Cooling performance remains a primary focus for this model. The LANCOOL 217 comes pre-installed with five fans—two large 170 mm intake fans at the front, two 120 mm reversed-blade fans above the PSU shroud, and a 140 mm exhaust fan at the rear. The front fans arrive in a balanced configuration that directs airflow toward both the CPU and GPU, but can be switched to prioritize CPU cooling. These adjustments can be made without tools, thanks to a sliding mount system with rubber dampeners for easier handling.

The case’s mesh panels on the front, top, and PSU shroud area help improve ventilation and reduce dust build-up, supporting continuous airflow across all components. Combined with the fan layout, these features are designed to maintain optimal internal temperatures even during intensive workloads or extended gaming sessions.

The LANCOOL 217 offers a dual PSU mounting option, allowing users to install the power supply in a standard orientation with the ports facing forward or rotate it 90 degrees for side-facing connections. The side-facing setup improves access to important motherboard connections and enhances storage flexibility by enabling the installation of a second HDD cage. LIAN LI also includes a PSU extension cable for this alternative configuration.

On the compatibility front, the LANCOOL 217 supports a broad range of hardware configurations. It can house motherboards up to SSI-EEB size (330 mm wide) and E-ATX boards up to 280 mm. GPU support extends to 380 mm in length, and CPU coolers up to 180 mm in height are supported. The case also accommodates top-mounted radiators up to 360 mm or 280 mm, offering multiple cooling options for custom or AIO setups.

The LANCOOL 217 is also the first in the LANCOOL series to support back-connect motherboards, reflecting a shift in case design that simplifies cable management and promotes cleaner builds. This inclusion, along with the flexible PSU layout, adds to the case’s adaptability for a wide range of use cases—from high-end gaming rigs to workstations.

The LANCOOL 217 became available on May 2, 2025, through authorized retailers and online storefronts. With its focus on airflow, modern aesthetics, and installation flexibility, LIAN LI’s latest release continues the company’s trend of offering builder-friendly cases with well-balanced design choices.
