Lexar Launches 2nd-Gen THOR RGB DDR5 Memory Modules

Lexar has announced the second-generation THOR RGB 2nd Gen DDR5 memory modules, following the company’s initial THOR series released in 2023. The updated modules were previewed at Gamescom 2025 and are now listed on Lexar’s official website, signaling their upcoming availability for desktop users and PC builders.

The THOR RGB 2nd Gen modules feature a redesigned form factor with dimensions of 135.4 × 45 × 7.4 mm. The new design includes a solid aluminium heatsink with a sandblasted finish, giving the modules a clean and minimal look. The RGB lighting has been enhanced with eight LED bulbs capable of thirteen different lighting modes. This offers brighter illumination and more options for customization compared to the previous generation.

Performance options for the new modules include DDR5-6000 and DDR5-6400 speeds. Memory kits are offered in three capacities: 32 GB (2 × 16 GB), 64 GB (2 × 32 GB), and 128 GB (2 × 64 GB). The modules are compatible with both Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO profiles, allowing users to enable optimized memory settings with simplified overclocking. Timing specifications vary depending on the kit size and speed. For instance, the 32 GB DDR5-6000 kit operates at CL38-48-48-96 with 1.35 V, while larger kits use slightly higher timings to maintain stability.

Lexar provides a lifetime limited warranty for the THOR RGB 2nd Gen modules, though coverage is restricted to ten years in Germany and other regions where lifetime warranty terms are not recognized.

The memory will be marketed under two different names. In European retail channels, it will be sold as THOR RGB 2nd Gen, while Amazon listings will use the name THOR Z RGB. Exact pricing and release dates have not been confirmed, but the company’s website shows the full range of specifications and options.
