Keychron has quietly introduced the M2 Mini 8K, a new addition to its range of lightweight gaming mice. The device is designed as a smaller, more compact version of the M2 8K, targeting users who prefer a compact form factor without compromising on hardware features. The mouse is currently priced at $59.99 on Keychron’s official online store.
The M2 Mini 8K brings two major upgrades compared to the previous M2 Mini. The first is an increase in the polling rate from 1 kHz to 8 kHz, offering more responsive input during fast-paced gaming. The second is an upgraded sensor, switching from the PixArt PAW 3395 to the PAW 3950, which improves tracking accuracy and reduces input latency.
With the new sensor, the mouse supports a maximum of 30,000 DPI, 750 IPS tracking speed, and 50 G acceleration. It is also capable of tracking on glass surfaces as long as they are thicker than 4 mm, making it versatile for a variety of desk setups.
The M2 Mini 8K continues to offer tri-mode wireless connectivity, including Bluetooth 5.3, 2.4 GHz wireless, and wired USB-C options. The 8 kHz polling rate is available over 2.4 GHz and wired connections. The mouse is powered by a 600 mAh battery, with an estimated battery life of 140 hours when used over Bluetooth.
Weighing just 50 g, the M2 Mini 8K is equipped with PTFE feet for smooth movement. The main click switches are Huano Transparent Blue Shell Pink Dot switches, rated for 80 million clicks, providing durability for long-term use. The ergonomic design is moderately asymmetrical, making it suitable for users with smaller hands.
In terms of dimensions, the M2 Mini 8K measures 117 × 64 × 38 mm, compared to the standard M2 8K’s 121.5 × 66.7 × 40.6 mm, while the weight difference remains minimal at 5 g.
