Keychron Introduces New Q HE 8K Aluminium TMR Gaming Keyboards with 8K Polling

Keychron has expanded its gaming keyboard lineup with the launch of the new Q HE 8K series, introducing faster polling rates and updated switch technology. The company is releasing three models: the full-size Q6 HE 8K, the TKL Q3 HE 8K, and the compact 75% Q1 HE 8K. The first two models will be available on November 18, 2025, while the Q1 HE 8K will follow on December 11.

The Q6 HE 8K and Q3 HE 8K arrive with price tags of $239.99 and $229.99, respectively. All three keyboards share a similar construction approach and are built from an all-aluminium chassis. Each model will be offered in black or white, with purple accent keys placed on the Enter and Escape keys for a consistent visual theme across the series.

The new models introduce several updates over previous Q HE keyboards. The most notable change is the 8 kHz polling rate, aimed at reducing latency for gaming and high-speed input scenarios. This feature, however, removes wireless connectivity from the series. Keychron has opted for a wired-only setup, using USB Type-C as the connection standard. Alongside this shift, the typical connection-mode switch has been replaced with a hardware profile selection switch, allowing users to alternate between saved configurations.

In terms of design, the keyboards keep the aluminium switch plate and double-shot PBT keycaps in the OSA profile, which have been used in earlier Q HE models. Keychron has also updated the switch system. The new Ultra-Fast Magnetic Lime switches replace the previous Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic switches. These Lime switches are linear with an operating force of 26–40 gf and follow a standard orientation, making the new keyboards compatible with a wide range of magnetic switches already available in the market.

All three keyboards run on QMK firmware, providing extensive layout customization and macro support. Users can configure their keyboard settings through Keychron Launcher, a web-based tool that functions similarly to VIA but includes features like integrated firmware updates and profile management. This gives users a dedicated platform to adjust key mappings, actuation settings, and other preferences.

With the launch of the Q HE 8K series, Keychron is positioning these models as the next step in its magnetic keyboard offerings. The combination of high polling rates, aluminium construction, and broader switch compatibility aims to support both gaming performance and long-term customization.
