Grand Theft Auto VI Projected to Generate $7.6 Billion in First 60 Days, Says Konvoy

Grand Theft Auto VI is on track to become one of the most commercially successful video game releases to date. According to new predictions from investment firm Konvoy, the upcoming Rockstar Games title could generate $7.6 billion in revenue during its first 60 days on the market.

Josh Chapman, Managing Partner at Konvoy, shared the firm’s analysis in a LinkedIn post this week. He stated that Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to recover its reported $2 billion development costs within 30 days of release. The projections also point to record-breaking sales and revenue milestones, as well as high player counts and streaming viewership across platforms.

The scale of the forecast reflects the strong demand for the next installment in Rockstar’s flagship series. Grand Theft Auto V, released in 2013, became one of the best-selling games of all time, surpassing $1 billion in sales within its first three days. For Grand Theft Auto VI, Konvoy expects significantly higher figures, driven by a larger global audience, expanded digital sales, and widespread attention on social media and streaming services.

At $2 billion, the development cost of GTA VI is believed to be the highest in the series. This figure reportedly includes years of production, large-scale world-building efforts, and the adoption of advanced technologies for next-generation consoles. Future installments, such as Grand Theft Auto VII, are expected to see lower development costs, as some processes will be shifted to AI-assisted tools and workflows, according to Chapman’s post.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on May 26, 2026. It will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Take-Two Interactive has not yet announced a release date for a PC version.

The upcoming launch is widely expected to set new industry benchmarks for revenue and engagement, reflecting both the strength of the Grand Theft Auto brand and the growing scale of global gaming audiences.
