Goodram Master PCIe 5.0 SSD Delivers 14,000 MB/s Reads and 13,000 MB/s Writes

Goodram is pushing its latest SSD into the high-speed PCIe 5.0 market with the new Master, a consumer NVMe drive capable of reaching up to 14,000 MB/s sequential read speeds and 13,000 MB/s write speeds. The SSD is aimed at users building modern gaming PCs and workstations, as well as content creators and professionals handling large files and demanding applications.

The Goodram Master uses a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface and can deliver up to 2,000,000 IOPS in random performance. These numbers are designed to reduce file transfer times, speed up application launches, and keep systems responsive when several demanding tasks are running at the same time.

The drive is available in 1TB and 2TB capacities, although performance varies between the two versions. The 1TB model reaches up to 14,000 MB/s read and 9,000 MB/s write speeds, while the 2TB version reaches the full 14,000 MB/s read and 13,000 MB/s write figures. The 2TB model can also reach up to 2,000,000 IOPS for random read performance.

Goodram is also positioning the Master for local AI workloads. Faster storage can help reduce the time required to load AI models, datasets, and project files, which can be useful when working with local AI applications alongside a powerful GPU and sufficient VRAM.

For gamers, the SSD supports Microsoft DirectStorage. Compatible games can use the technology to reduce loading times and improve texture streaming by allowing game data to move more efficiently between storage and the system.

Power consumption is another area Goodram highlights with the Master. According to the company’s internal testing, the new SSD can use up to 27% less power than selected previous-generation PCIe 5.0 SSDs with comparable performance. Actual power consumption will depend on the workload and system configuration.

The Master also features a single-sided M.2 2280 design, making it compatible with heatsinks integrated into many modern motherboards. This can help the drive manage temperatures during sustained workloads, which is particularly important for high-performance PCIe 5.0 SSDs.

The SSD supports Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology and comes with a five-year limited warranty, subject to the applicable TBW limit. Goodram has yet to announce pricing or specific retail availability for the Master.
