Sucker Punch has officially confirmed that Ghost of Yōtei Legends has reached the end of its planned content roadmap following the release of the Raid update. The online co-op mode, which launched in March 2026, will continue to remain playable online, though the studio says no additional major content updates are currently planned for the experience.
The announcement was shared through a recent PlayStation Blog post, where the developer explained that the newly released Raid expansion was designed as the final chapter for the multiplayer mode. The update introduced the last major boss encounters and concluded the storyline surrounding the Yōtei Six, effectively completing the narrative created for Legends.
According to Sucker Punch, “The Raid update was our last major planned update for Legends.” While the statement confirms the end of active content development, the studio also reassured players that servers will remain online, allowing the community to continue accessing all existing multiplayer content.
The timing of the announcement comes during a period when several live service titles across the gaming industry have either been cancelled or scaled back due to weak player engagement. However, Sucker Punch made it clear that Ghost of Yōtei Legends is not ending because of performance issues. Instead, the studio appears to have always intended the multiplayer mode to follow a more complete and self-contained structure.

Sucker Punch lead designer Darren Bridges discussed the decision further, explaining that the Raid content “finishes the story of the Yōtei Six in that mode.” Bridges also noted that the team has been happy to see players continue enjoying the game since launch, suggesting that community support for Legends remains healthy even after the final update.
In addition to the blog post, Bridges appeared in a recent PlayStation Podcast interview where he shared more details about the development process behind both Ghost of Yōtei and its multiplayer component. The discussion focused on the challenges of designing cooperative gameplay, balancing progression systems, and creating raid encounters that matched the tone of the main game.
Although some players may have expected ongoing seasonal support, Ghost of Yōtei Legends now joins a smaller group of multiplayer experiences that launched with a defined beginning and ending. With the Raid expansion now available, players can experience the full multiplayer storyline exactly as Sucker Punch originally planned.
