GameSir is bringing Fortnite-themed hardware to mobile players with a new collection of officially licensed controllers developed in collaboration with Epic Games’ popular battle royale title. The lineup will launch with the GameSir G8 Plus Fortnite Edition and GameSir X5 Lite for Xbox Fortnite Edition, combining mobile-focused controller features with Fortnite-inspired designs and digital rewards.
The partnership, facilitated by IMG Licensing, is aimed at players who use mobile devices for Fortnite’s Battle Royale, Zero Build, Reload, and developer-made experiences. Each controller will also include a Fortnite digital in-game bonus item, although the reward will vary depending on the specific edition.
The G8 Plus Fortnite Edition is aimed at players looking for more control options during longer gaming sessions. It comes with Hall Effect thumbsticks designed to avoid the traditional stick-drift issue associated with conventional analog sticks. The controller also features mappable rear buttons, allowing players to assign additional commands without relying entirely on the standard controls.
GameSir is also using a console-inspired ergonomic design, while the controller supports multiple gaming platforms. Fortnite artwork and collectible packaging complete the themed design.
Depending on the G8 Plus edition purchased, players will receive one of several digital items, including the Bully Emote, Burpee Emote, Gun Show Emote, Page-Turner Emote, Go! Go! Go! Emote, or Harmoney Emote.
The X5 Lite for Xbox Fortnite Edition takes a different approach, focusing on portability for mobile players. It features an ultra-lightweight design, wireless connectivity, controls tuned for mobile gaming, and Fortnite-inspired styling.
Its included digital rewards include the Extra Cheese Glider, Storm Sigil Glider, Cerberus Glider, Snow Squall Glider, or On Your Mark… Emote, depending on the controller edition.
GameSir Vice President of Partnerships & Product Strategy for North America Eric Bright said the company wanted the collaboration to go beyond simply adding Fortnite artwork to existing hardware, with the collection combining premium controller features and character-inspired designs.
The Fortnite collection is scheduled to launch this fall through GameSir’s website and selected retailers worldwide, including Best Buy and Walmart.
