FromSoftware’s Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and The Duskbloods Still Set for Nintendo Switch 2 Release in 2026

After months of limited updates surrounding Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, publisher Kadokawa Corporation has now confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game is still scheduled for release in 2026.

The update appeared in Kadokawa’s latest financial report, which also included confirmation that The Duskbloods remains on track for launch on Nintendo Switch 2 next year. While rumors about Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition have continued to circulate online in recent months, official comments from FromSoftware and Kadokawa have been mostly absent until now.

According to the report, Kadokawa stated:

“FromSoftware is expected to contribute with Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, as well as The Duskbloods (both slated for a 2026 release for Nintendo Switch 2).”

The company did not share an exact release window for either title, but the statement confirms that development is still progressing without any announced delays.

Rumors previously suggested that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition could arrive in late 2026, with some reports even discussing possible pricing details for the Nintendo Switch 2 release. However, neither Kadokawa nor FromSoftware has officially commented on those claims.

The confirmation is still important for fans, especially since there had been concerns regarding the technical challenges of bringing Elden Ring to Nintendo’s next-generation handheld hardware. The original game launched on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms with demanding hardware requirements, making the Switch 2 version one of the more closely watched projects from FromSoftware.

Kadokawa’s financial report also highlighted the publisher’s continued support for FromSoftware’s projects. The company appears to be allowing the studio greater flexibility with future development plans as it expands its lineup beyond traditional multiplatform releases.

Meanwhile, The Duskbloods remains exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 for now. Kadokawa specifically noted that there are currently no plans to bring the title to other platforms.

Nintendo has yet to reveal a detailed release roadmap for several upcoming third-party Switch 2 games, but more information about both projects is expected closer to launch.
