Fractal Design Launches North Series Momentum Edition With Factory-Installed Momentum Cooling

Fractal Design has officially announced theNorth Series Momentum Edition, expanding its North lineup with a new variant focused on out-of-the-box thermal performance. The new PC Cases combine the established North design language with pre-installed Momentum cooling, targeting users building high-performance gaming or workstation systems.

The North Series Momentum Edition comes equipped with three Momentum fans as standard. These fans use liquid crystal polymer (LCP) blades, a material commonly selected for its rigidity and durability under sustained operation. Fractal Design has paired the blades with true fluid dynamic bearings, a design choice intended to support stable airflow and long-term reliability. With these fans installed at the factory, the Momentum Edition is positioned as a ready-to-build solution that reduces the need for immediate aftermarket cooling upgrades.

Airflow remains a central part of the design. The case keeps the same open front structure and top-mounted mesh ventilation found on the original North models. This layout allows air to move freely through the chassis, helping maintain balanced temperatures across core components such as the CPU, GPU, and power delivery hardware. The approach reflects Fractal Design’s ongoing focus on combining airflow efficiency with low acoustic output.

On the exterior, the Momentum Edition introduces a refined visual update. The front panel uses blackened oak rather than the lighter wood finish seen on earlier versions, paired with dark alloy accents across the frame. The result is a more subdued appearance that fits easily into gaming setups and professional environments without drawing excessive attention.

Internally, Fractal Design has retained the same clean and modular layout used throughout the North Series. The interior supports modern hardware configurations and emphasizes ease of installation and cable routing. The standard North Momentum Edition supports graphics cards up to 355 mm in length, while the larger North XL Momentum Edition extends GPU clearance to 413 mm. This added space is aimed at accommodating today’s larger graphics cards, including custom-cooled models.

Both case sizes are designed to support a range of cooling options, including air and liquid cooling solutions, making them suitable for different build priorities. Storage and component mounting options remain flexible, allowing users to tailor the system to gaming, content creation, or mixed workloads.

Fractal Design has set the MSRP of the North Momentum Edition at $179.99 USD. The North XL Momentum Edition is priced at $209.99 USD. Availability details have not yet been confirmed.
