At MWC 2026, Fibocom (300638.SZ, 0638.HK) and MediaTek introduced a new flagship 5G-A customer premises equipment (CPE) solution built on the FG390 5G module and the Filogic 8800 Wi-Fi 8 chipset. The platform combines 5G-Advanced connectivity with next-generation Wi-Fi 8 to address growing demand for fixed wireless access (FWA) across residential and small-to-medium business deployments.
The FG390 module is powered by the MediaTek T930, enabling high-speed 5G-A backhaul with improved latency and network efficiency. Paired with the Filogic 8800 platform, the solution supports tri-band concurrency across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands. The companies state that the design can deliver sub-millisecond latency and up to double the throughput compared to previous generations, even with more than 200 connected devices operating simultaneously.

Fibocom and MediaTek also highlighted multi-AP collaboration features that reduce interference by over 40 percent, improving spectrum utilization in dense network environments. Enhanced Long-Range (ELR) and distributed radio unit (dRU) technologies are integrated to improve wall penetration and extend coverage by up to 40 percent, helping maintain stable connections at the edge of network range.
The company positions the new CPE platform as suitable for AI-driven applications, AR and VR workloads, and smart home ecosystems that require reliable and low-latency wireless connectivity. As operators expand 5G-A infrastructure, the FG390 and Filogic 8800-based solution is aimed at accelerating FWA adoption globally, offering an alternative broadband option in markets where fiber deployment remains limited or cost-intensive.
