Dareu Announces Cool 98 Hall Effect Gaming Keyboard With 8K Polling and Rapid Trigger

Dareu has officially introduced the Cool 98 Magnetic Gaming Keyboard, expanding its lineup of Hall-effect keyboards designed for gamers who prefer faster response times and customizable key actuation. The new model combines a compact 98% layout with magnetic switches, an 8,000Hz polling rate, and a Gasket-mounted structure while maintaining a modern translucent design with RGB lighting.

The Dareu Cool 98 features a 98% layout, offering nearly all the keys of a full-size keyboard while saving desk space. Its chassis is made from ABS plastic and uses a translucent finish that allows the built-in RGB lighting to shine through. The keyboard also includes a metal multimedia knob for quick volume adjustments and media controls, while a mirrored nameplate is integrated into the bottom cover to complete its overall appearance.

To improve typing comfort, Dareu has adopted a Gasket-mounted internal structure. The keyboard includes four layers of sound-dampening material along with an aluminum alloy positioning plate. This construction is designed to reduce vibrations and provide a softer typing feel compared to traditional tray-mounted keyboards.

For lighting, the Cool 98 includes a continuous front-facing RGB light strip alongside 8-bit ARGB lighting positioned beneath the keyboard. Combined with the translucent housing, the lighting effects are visible from multiple angles, giving users additional customization options for their desktop setup.

The keyboard is equipped with Dareu’s Ice Blade magnetic switches, which use Hall effect sensors instead of conventional mechanical contacts. Magnetic switches allow users to take advantage of features such as adjustable actuation points and Rapid Trigger technology, making them suitable for fast-paced competitive games where quick key response is important.

Dareu says the Cool 98 delivers an 8,000Hz polling rate, reducing communication delay between the keyboard and the PC. The company also claims a key latency of 0.2ms and Rapid Trigger precision of 0.01mm, allowing keys to reset almost immediately after release for faster repeated inputs during gameplay.

Unlike many recent wireless gaming keyboards, the Cool 98 focuses entirely on wired performance. It supports a wired single-mode USB connection, providing a stable and low-latency experience without the need to manage battery life or wireless connectivity.

The keyboard is compatible with both Windows and macOS. Users can customize settings through either Dareu’s desktop software or its web-based configuration platform. The software also includes preset profiles designed for FPS and MOBA games, allowing players to switch between different configurations with minimal setup.
