Remedy Entertainment has narrowed down the release window for Control Resonant, the next game set in the Control universe. While the studio previously confirmed a 2026 launch, recent investor filings suggest the game is scheduled to arrive toward the end of Q2 2026, indicating a likely release in May or June.
The updated timeline was identified by Insider Gaming in late 2025 financial documents. According to the filings, Control Resonant is being co-financed and co-produced by Remedy and Annapurna, continuing the collaboration announced during the game’s initial reveal.

Remedy has confirmed that Control Resonant will launch simultaneously across multiple platforms. The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, alongside PC releases via Steam and the Epic Games Store. In addition, macOS users will be able to access the game through Steam and the Apple App Store, marking a broader platform strategy for the studio.
Alongside release details, Remedy shared sales expectations for the upcoming title. The studio projects sales of approximately 1.8 million copies during 2026, with total sales expected to reach around 2.2 million units in 2027. These forecasts follow the continued success of the original Control, which has sold more than 5 million copies since launching in 2019.

From a story perspective, Control Resonant shifts focus away from Jesse Faden, the protagonist of the first game. The new entry follows Dylan Faden, her brother, after he is sent by the Federal Bureau of Control to address a supernatural crisis in Manhattan. The narrative centers on a reality-altering cosmic threat that poses a wider risk beyond the city.
Remedy has stated that Control Resonant is designed to be approachable for new players, without requiring prior experience with the original game. At the same time, it builds on established systems, with updates to combat mechanics, environmental design, and narrative delivery.
With a clearer launch window now in place, Control Resonant is positioned as one of Remedy’s major releases planned for 2026.
