After years of anticipation, Commandos: Origins is set to launch digitally on April 9, 2025. Developed by Claymore Game Studios and published by Kalypso Media, the new title revisits the classic real-time tactics formula that defined the original Commandos series, offering players a look at how the elite World War II unit first came together.
The Commandos: Origins will be available on multiple platforms starting tomorrow, including Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. In addition, Xbox Game Pass subscribers on both console and PC will be able to access the game on day one. A retail version for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 is scheduled to arrive in selected regions on May 22, while digital releases for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are expected later in 2025, with Smart Delivery support confirmed for Xbox users.
Commandos: Origins serves as a prequel to the original series, telling the story of how the iconic team came together. Players will take control of six main characters, each with unique skills designed to complement stealth-based and tactical gameplay. These characters include Jack O’Hara (the Green Beret), Thomas Hancock (the Sapper), Rene Duchamp (the Spy), James Blackwood (the Sniper), Samuel Brooklyn (the Driver), and Francis T. Wooldridge (the Marine).
