Clicks Technology has announced two new products ahead of CES 2026, continuing its focus on physical keyboards for mobile devices. Alongside a new Power keyboard accessory priced at $79, the company also revealed its first smartphone, called the Communicator. This marks Clicks’ entry into the mobile phone market and expands its product lineup beyond accessories.
The Communicator is priced at $499. Clicks describes the device as a “second portable device,” aimed at users who prefer to separate work and personal communication across two phones. The company says the phone is designed for people who spend a large part of their day typing messages, responding to emails, and editing documents on the go.

Unlike typical smartphones, the Communicator is built around a limited app experience. Clicks worked with Niagara Launcher to restrict access to social media apps and games. Instead, the phone focuses on communication and productivity tools such as Gmail, Telegram, WhatsApp, and Slack. Users can view and reply to messages, but the overall interface is designed to reduce distractions and keep attention on practical tasks.
The Communicator includes a side-mounted illuminated button known as the Signal Light, or Prompt Key. This element supports color and lighting effect customization, making it possible to link specific visual cues with selected contacts, groups, or applications. A work messaging app, for instance, can be assigned a different color than personal chats, helping users recognize the type of notification at a glance without waking or unlocking the device.

The Prompt Key also supports voice input while typing and can be used to quickly record voice memos. Clicks has confirmed that it is exploring future features for this button, including AI-based note-taking and voice tools, but these options are not available at launch.
The Communicator continues Clicks’ physical keyboard design, offering tactile keycaps and an ergonomic layout intended for frequent typing. In addition to traditional key input, the keyboard supports touch gestures. Users can scroll through messages, lists, and web pages by swiping across the keys, reducing the need to switch between keyboard and touchscreen.

From a hardware perspective, the phone includes several features that have become less common in recent years. It retains a 3.5mm headphone jack, a physical SIM card slot alongside eSIM support, and a microSD card slot that supports expansion up to 2TB. There is also a physical toggle switch for airplane mode, which can be customized to interact with lighting effects or keyboard functions.
Clicks has chosen a replaceable back cover design, allowing users to change the appearance of the device. At launch, the Communicator will be available in three colors: Smoke, Clover, and Onyx. Additional covers may be offered in the future.

For early buyers, Clicks is offering a pre-order promotion. Customers who place a $199 deposit before February 27 can purchase the phone at an early bird price of $399. Those who pay the full early bird price upfront will also receive two extra back covers. The company expects the Communicator to begin shipping later this year.
In terms of specifications, the Communicator runs Android 16 and is promised to receive five years of security updates. The device measures 131.5mm in height and weighs 170 grams. It supports global 5G, 4G LTE, 3G, and 2G networks and is sold unlocked. Other features include a 4,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, 256GB of internal storage with microSD expansion, a 50MP rear camera with optical image stabilization, and a 24MP front camera.

Connectivity options include NFC with Google Pay, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 6, a USB-C port, and wireless charging. With the Communicator, Clicks Technology is targeting users who prefer physical input and a more focused mobile experience centered on communication and productivity.
