CHUWI has introduced the GameBook Max, an 18-inch gaming laptop powered by Intel’s 14th-generation Core HX processors and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU. The system combines a large high-refresh-rate display with upgradeable memory, dual SSD slots, and a range of ports for external displays and peripherals. Prices start at $1,799 for the entry-level configuration, while the higher-end model costs $2,099.

The GameBook Max is available with either an Intel Core i7-14650HX or Core i9-14900HX processor. The Core i7 chip features 16 cores and 24 threads, with boost speeds of up to 5.2GHz. The Core i9 model increases the core count to 24 and supports 32 threads, with boost clocks reaching 5.8GHz. Both configurations use an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU with 8GB of GDDR7 memory and a rated maximum graphics power of 115W, including Dynamic Boost. The GPU also supports NVIDIA DLSS and ray tracing in compatible games.
The laptop’s 18-inch IPS display has a 1920 × 1200 resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel prioritizes screen size and smooth motion over the higher resolutions found on some premium gaming laptops. CHUWI also equips the system with an RGB-backlit keyboard, translucent WASD keys, a numeric keypad, and a four-speaker audio system. A 720p webcam with a privacy shutter is included for video calls.

Memory and storage can be expanded as needed. The laptop supports 16GB or 32GB of DDR5 memory out of the box, with two SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB. Storage configurations include 512GB and 1TB PCIe SSDs, while two M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots provide room for additional drives. This gives users the option to expand storage for large game libraries and work files without replacing the entire system.
Connectivity includes USB-C, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, Mini DisplayPort 2.1a, 2.5Gb Ethernet, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Wireless connections are handled by Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. The laptop has a 77.77Wh battery and supports USB-C Power Delivery charging at up to 140W, alongside a 250W power adapter. It runs Windows 11 Pro, measures 400 × 291.5 × 21.6mm, and weighs approximately 2.815kg.

CHUWI lists the GameBook Max with the Core i7-14650HX, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD for $1,799. The Core i9-14900HX configuration, with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, is priced at $2,099. As CHUWI describes the system, it is designed to bring together “performance” and a “large-screen gaming experience.” Actual gaming results will depend on the title, graphics settings, and the laptop’s power and thermal limits. Regional pricing and availability may vary.
