CHERRY Expands Keyboard Lineup with Four Compact Mechanical Models for Office and Home Office

CHERRY has announced four new keyboards designed to bring modern mechanical switch technology to office and home office environments. The new models — KW 300 MX, KW 300W MX, KW 550 MX LP, and KW X ULP 2.0 MINI — focus on compact layouts, wireless connectivity, and sustainable construction while maintaining CHERRY’s established build quality. All models will be available starting August 5, 2025.

The KW 300 MX and KW 300W MX introduce CHERRY’s latest MX2A switches in an 82-key layout, delivering a softer and quieter typing experience compared to traditional designs. The keyboards include hot-swappable sockets, allowing users to replace or upgrade switches without soldering. High-quality PBT keycaps ensure long-term durability, while dimmable white backlighting improves visibility in low-light environments.

The KW 300 MX also ships with additional Mac-compatible keycaps for flexibility across operating systems. Technical highlights include a 1000 Hz polling rate, N-key rollover, anti-ghosting, and AES-128 encryption for secure wireless use. Both models support Bluetooth 5.2 and USB-C connectivity. In line with CHERRY’s sustainability goals, the lower housing uses 65% recycled plastic, and the packaging is completely plastic-free, relying on paper-based seals and silk-like paper.

For users preferring slimmer designs, the KW 550 MX LP integrates the company’s MX Low Profile 2.0 switches. With a 96% layout and an overall height of less than 22 mm, this model reduces typing noise and desk footprint. Adjustable feet provide ergonomic positioning, while Bluetooth 5.2 and USB-C connectivity make it adaptable to modern setups. Like the KW 300 series, the KW 550 MX LP is shipped in plastic-free packaging.

At the premium end, the KW X ULP 2.0 MINI offers an ultra-low-profile mechanical solution with a 75% layout for both Windows and macOS users. The keyboard incorporates an anodised aluminium top plate for rigidity, concave polycarbonate keycaps for enhanced grip, and multiple wireless options including 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 5.2 Low Energy, and USB-C. The CHERRY logo functions as a charge status indicator, and the package includes a magnetic nano receiver along with a transport pouch made from recycled materials. This updated model also integrates additional recycled content and has been refined for quieter operation in shared workspaces.

Tanja Knahn, Head of Brand & Communication at CHERRY, stated that while RGB-lit gaming keyboards dominate the mechanical segment, the office sector requires more discreet and ergonomic options. The newly introduced models are intended to address this demand by offering quieter switches, sustainable materials, and compact layouts without compromising professional usability.

The new models will be available from August 5, 2025, at the following suggested retail prices: KW 300 MX (£95.36), KW 300W MX (£119), KW 550 MX LP (£99), and KW X ULP 2.0 MINI (£189).
