Black Myth: Wukong October 13 Update Brings AMD FSR 4.0 Support and Major Performance Fixes

Game Science has confirmed that a new patch for Black Myth: Wukong will be released later today, introducing AMD FSR 4.0 support, CPU optimizations, and several technical improvements. This update aims to refine the overall gameplay experience and address stability issues that have affected some players since launch.

According to the developer, the October 13 patch integrates AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4.0 technology, which will be available to users running compatible AMD hardware. Players can activate this feature through the in-game settings after updating their drivers and enabling FSR 4.0 in the driver menu. This addition should enhance visual clarity and frame rates, especially in demanding environments where hardware resources are heavily utilized.

Performance upgrades form a significant part of this patch. Game Science highlighted improvements to CPU performance and better memory usage across multiple in-game scenarios. These changes aim to deliver smoother gameplay and reduce stuttering, particularly in scenes that rely on high CPU power. Additionally, several lighting adjustments have been made to provide more consistent image quality, even at lower graphics settings.

On the visual side, the update addresses rendering problems within NXSR that caused flickering and ghosting effects. The patch enhances NXSR’s rendering accuracy to produce cleaner edges and improve overall image quality. Motion blur has also been refined to minimize jagged lines during camera movement. For players using NVIDIA’s DLSS 4 Frame Generation alongside ray tracing, a previous crash issue has now been fixed, improving stability for advanced graphical configurations.

PlayStation 5 players will also benefit from several console-specific enhancements. The update improves texture clarity, reduces loading times, and revises Performance Mode. The refreshed Performance Mode now operates at 60Hz, offering lower input latency and higher resolution, while the original mode is renamed “Performance Mode (Legacy)” for those who prefer the previous settings.

Localization updates expand the game’s accessibility, adding full support for Czech and correcting text, translation, and subtitle inconsistencies across multiple languages. Boss battles have also received fine-tuning, with better combat flow and fixes for specific encounters such as the Yaoguai King “Giant Shigandang” and the Yaoguai Chief “Top Takes Bottom & Bottom Takes Top.”

Game Science has also reminded players that using mods may lead to launch errors or unexpected in-game behavior. It is recommended to remove any installed modifications and verify the game files before applying the new patch.

The October 13 update will automatically download through Steam once available. With AMD FSR 4.0 integration, improved performance, and key visual fixes, this patch aims to deliver a smoother and more optimized experience for Black Myth: Wukong players on both PC and console.
