Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have officially released Battlefield 6, marking a new chapter in the long-running first-person shooter series. The game is available globally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam, the EA App, and the Epic Games Store. This latest entry delivers an expanded gameplay experience, combining large-scale multiplayer battles, a single-player campaign, and improved creation tools under the Portal system.
Set in the year 2027, Battlefield 6 introduces players to a world in crisis. The once-united NATO alliance faces internal fractures caused by political disputes and financial instability. In the chaos, a private military organization known as Pax Armata rises, using its technological power and vast resources to reshape the global balance. Players take on the role of Dagger 13, a squad of elite US Marine raiders, across nine campaign missions that move from the streets of Brooklyn to the deserts of Cairo. The campaign is designed to deliver modern warfare scenarios filled with tactical choices, global operations, and high-intensity combat sequences.
Multiplayer remains at the core of Battlefield 6. The game features ten large maps built for next-generation platforms, each showcasing realistic destruction and detailed environmental effects. Players will battle through mountain ranges in Tajikistan’s Liberation Peak, fight under the Manhattan Bridge, and navigate active construction zones in New Sobek City on the outskirts of Cairo. Classic modes, including Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush, return with new layers of depth, alongside a fresh mode called Escalation, which combines large-scale warfare with close-quarters combat. Additional smaller-scale experiences such as Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination, and King of the Hil,l have also been refined to deliver faster gameplay pacing.
The returning Portal mode has been upgraded with new tools that give players the ability to design their own custom game modes and modify existing ones. It allows the community to mix maps, weapons, and rule sets from across different eras of the series, offering creative flexibility and replay value.

Byron Beede, General Manager of Battlefield, said the goal for Battlefield 6 was to elevate the franchise’s signature combat systems. “This is a new era for the series, combining advanced gunplay and environmental mechanics with player-driven tactics,” he stated.
EA confirmed a post-launch roadmap starting with Season 1: Rogue Ops, releasing on October 28. The season introduces a new map, Blackwell Fields, and a 4v4 mode. Future seasonal updates will include California Resistance on November 18 and Winter Offensive on December 9, each adding new maps and limited-time events. All gameplay-related updates will be free or unlockable through gameplay progression.

Battlefield 6 is offered in two versions: the Standard Edition for $69.99 and the Phantom Edition for $99.99, which includes exclusive cosmetic packs, weapon and vehicle skins, and early access to the Battlefield Pro package for Season 1. EA Play subscribers receive a 10% discount and access to in-game rewards through the EA Play Deployment Pack.
With its new campaign, expanded multiplayer systems, and upgraded creation tools, Battlefield 6 aims to deliver one of the most comprehensive entries in the franchise’s history, bringing large-scale warfare and tactical gameplay to modern platforms.
