AYANEO Pocket Micro 2 Announced With Snapdragon Gaming Platform, Larger Battery, and Refined Retro Design

AYANEO has officially introduced the Pocket Micro 2, the latest addition to its growing lineup of premium handheld gaming devices. Designed around the company’s REMAKE philosophy, the new model builds on the original Pocket Micro with updated hardware, refined controls, and a larger battery while retaining the compact horizontal design that appeals to retro gaming enthusiasts.

The Pocket Micro 2 continues AYANEO’s focus on combining classic handheld aesthetics with modern technology. The device features a CNC-machined all-metal frame that delivers a premium feel while maintaining portability. AYANEO has redesigned the chassis with smoother curves and improved contours to provide a more comfortable grip during extended gaming sessions. The company is also introducing new color options that further embrace the retro gaming theme.

The Pocket Micro 2 features a 3.5-inch LCD TrueColor display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, a format that matches many classic handheld systems, including the Game Boy Advance. This allows retro games to appear in their original proportions without stretching or distortion, while the modern panel delivers improved color reproduction and image quality compared to older handheld screens.

Performance receives a major upgrade with the inclusion of a Qualcomm Snapdragon gaming platform. While AYANEO has yet to confirm the exact chipset powering the device, the company says the platform delivers improved performance and power efficiency. In addition to handling retro gaming and emulation workloads, the handheld is designed to support modern Android games with smooth gameplay.

To help maintain stable performance under load, AYANEO has equipped the Pocket Micro 2 with an active cooling system. The cooling solution is intended to keep temperatures under control during long gaming sessions and demanding applications.

Key features of the AYANEO Pocket Micro 2 include:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon gaming platform
  • 3.5-inch LCD TrueColor display
  • Classic 3:2 aspect ratio
  • CNC all-metal chassis design
  • Active cooling system
  • 3,950mAh high-density battery
  • Larger ABXY buttons and D-pad
  • Recessed TMR dual joysticks
  • Redesigned shoulder buttons
  • AYASpace customizable button mapping
  • USB 3.1 Type-C connectivity
  • MicroSD card expansion support

Battery life has also been improved significantly. The Pocket Micro 2 is equipped with a 3,950mAh battery, which AYANEO says represents approximately a 52 percent increase in capacity compared to the previous generation. The larger battery is expected to provide longer gaming sessions and improved portability for users who play while traveling.

The control system has received several upgrades as well. Larger face buttons and a redesigned D-pad aim to improve comfort and responsiveness. The device also features recessed TMR dual joysticks, which AYANEO claims offer zero drift and zero dead zones while helping reduce the overall thickness of the handheld. Redesigned shoulder buttons further enhance usability by reducing accidental inputs and improving tactile feedback.

AYANEO will share additional information about the Pocket Micro 2 during its official launch event scheduled for June 26, 2026, at 8:00 AM EDT. More details regarding pricing, availability, and final hardware specifications are expected to be announced during the presentation.
