AYANEO has introduced the Pocket DS, which it calls the first dual-screen flip-top Android handheld gaming console. The company opened pre-orders for the device and confirmed that official pricing will be announced in August.

The Pocket DS adopts a foldable design with two displays. The main screen is a 7-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1920×1080, a refresh rate of 165Hz, and a peak brightness of 800 nits. It supports 150% of the sRGB and 90% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The secondary screen is a 5-inch 1024×768 display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and 500 nits brightness. The hinge uses a free-hover design and is built with an all-metal CNC process.

For controls, the Pocket DS includes a TMR joystick, Hall-effect linear triggers, a D-pad, and ABXY buttons. Inside, it is powered by Qualcomm’s second-generation Snapdragon G3x gaming platform and uses a turbo fan cooling system. Power comes from an 8000mAh lithium battery, supporting PD fast charging through a USB-C interface.

The handheld also introduces AYANEO’s dual-screen interactive software. Users can run different apps on each display or move apps between screens with a three-finger swipe. Single-screen mode is also available to extend battery life. While gaming on the primary screen, the second display can be used for browsing, streaming, or even running another game.
The Pocket DS is part of AYANEO’s expanding handheld lineup, focusing on flexibility and multitasking for gaming on the go. Pricing details will follow in August, while pre-orders are already available for those interested in early access.
