Cyprus-based developer Mundfish has officially announced the fourth and final DLC for Atomic Heart. Titled Blood on Crystal, the expansion is scheduled to launch on April 16 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X.
The new DLC concludes the story arc that began with the base game in February 2023. Players will once again take control of protagonist P-3 as he returns to Facility 3826 for a final mission against CHAR-les. According to Mundfish, this chapter pushes deeper into the facility’s hidden structures, uncovering critical details behind CHAR-les’ long-running experiments and its broader plans.
Blood on Crystal introduces two major locations: the Wave Platform and the secret Crystal Complex. These new environments expand the late-game narrative and introduce additional lore tied to the facility’s origins and its research programs.

A new enemy faction known as the Polymorphs will also debut in the DLC. Created through advanced polymer experimentation, these enemies can shift elemental properties during combat encounters. This mechanic requires players to adjust tactics in real time, switching weapons and glove abilities to counter changing resistances.
Mundfish has also confirmed the inclusion of new boss fights, described as the most demanding encounters yet within Facility 3826. To support players, the DLC adds upgraded glove powers and new high-tier weapons designed for endgame combat.
In addition to the DLC release, Mundfish plans to launch an Ultimate Edition of Atomic Heart. A limited physical edition featuring an exclusive SteelBook will arrive on March 24 through select retailers. Digital versions of the Ultimate Edition will go live on April 16 alongside the DLC.

While official pricing for Blood on Crystal has not been announced, the previous expansions — Annihilation Instinct, Trapped in Limbo, and Enchantment Under the Sea — were each priced at $10 on Steam. Players who purchased the Gold or Premium Edition at launch will receive the final DLC as part of their existing package.
Since its debut, Atomic Heart has received consistent post-launch support. In May 2025, Mundfish reported that the game had surpassed 10 million players worldwide, a figure that includes players who accessed it through subscription services such as Game Pass.

The studio is currently developing Atomic Heart 2, as well as a multiplayer-focused project titled The Cube. With Blood on Crystal, Mundfish closes the first chapter of the franchise while continuing to expand the universe through new projects.
The DLC’s April 16 release marks the final step in the original storyline, bringing P-3’s mission inside Facility 3826 to its conclusion.
