ASUS Unveils ROG Strix GS-BE18000 Wi-Fi 7 Router at COMPUTEX 2025

ASUS has officially introduced its new high-performance wireless router, the ROG Strix GS-BE18000, at COMPUTEX 2025. Positioned as a premium addition to its ROG lineup, the GS-BE18000 builds on the design of the previously launched Strix GS7, adopting a similar vertical “magic box” form factor but with updated internal specifications and wider wireless capabilities.

The ROG Strix GS-BE18000 is powered by a 2.0GHz processor and comes equipped with 2GB of DDR4 memory. It supports Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) technology and operates across three frequency bands: 6GHz, 5GHz, and 2.4GHz. The combined theoretical wireless throughput reaches up to 18,000 Mbps—broken down as 11,529 Mbps on the 6GHz band, 5,765 Mbps on the 5GHz band, and 688 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band.

Key wireless features include support for 320MHz channel bandwidth, Multi-Link Operation (MLO), and 4K-QAM modulation, which help improve data throughput and reduce latency. Internally, the router integrates an array of 8 antennas and 10 front-end modules (FEMs) for enhanced signal strength and broader coverage. ASUS claims the router can cover up to 3,300 square feet (approximately 306.6 square meters), making it suitable for larger homes or apartments with high network demands.

For wired connectivity, the GS-BE18000 includes a total of eight 2.5GbE RJ45 ports. Compared to the Strix GS7, one LAN port has been removed, but the bandwidth capacity remains suitable for multi-device setups and gaming networks. A USB-A port supporting up to 5Gbps is also included for cellular network sharing or media storage access.

The router includes several gaming-focused features that align with ASUS’s ROG branding. These include a dedicated LAN port with game traffic prioritization, traffic management settings, and OpenNAT for simplified port forwarding. The GS-BE18000 also supports ROG First, ASUS’s ecosystem-level feature that allows direct coordination with other ROG devices for optimized network performance.

Alongside the GS-BE18000, ASUS also showcased a refreshed version of the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000, commonly known as the “Octopus” due to its distinct external antenna array. This updated model includes a new white chassis and introduces AI-based functions such as three-level game acceleration and noise detection features, reflecting ASUS’s efforts to expand smart network management tools in its flagship routers.

Both products highlight ASUS’s continued focus on delivering advanced networking hardware tailored for gamers and power users, especially as adoption of Wi-Fi 7 becomes more widespread. Pricing and availability details for the ROG Strix GS-BE18000 are expected to be announced closer to its retail release.
