ASUS is working on a new graphics card under its ROG Astral Dhahab series, this time based on the upcoming GeForce RTX 5080. The GPU, known as the ROG Astral RTX 5080 Dhahab Core, follows the same design approach as the previously announced ROG Astral RTX 5090 Dhahab, which made its debut earlier this year in the United Arab Emirates.
The RTX 5090 Dhahab gained attention for its distinctive gold and sapphire blue color scheme, inspired by cultural design elements from the region. The card featured metallic gold-colored components, calligraphy-style branding, and unique visual accents not found on standard models. It was released in limited quantities and targeted a niche segment of the market.
The upcoming RTX 5080 Dhahab Core will carry the same design style. It features golden aluminum fins within the cooler, gold-colored heat pipes, and a matching shroud made from alloy. The fan hubcaps also follow this golden color scheme. Sapphire blue metallic accents are used to provide contrast across the cooler design, while black sections of the shroud carry decorative calligraphy motifs in gold. These visual details match those found on the 5090 Dhahab, creating a consistent look for the series.
The cooler design for the 5080 Dhahab Core is based on the air-cooled version of the ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC, though it is not yet confirmed if there are any changes to the cooling performance or clock speeds. The word “Core” in the product name may suggest this is a more standard or base version within the Dhahab range, possibly offering fewer premium features compared to the top-tier 5090 model.
ASUS has not shared technical specifications, pricing, or availability for the new card. However, given the limited release of the previous Dhahab edition, it is likely that the 5080 Dhahab Core will also be available only in select markets. It may be launched primarily in the Middle East, where the design elements are more closely tied to local culture and design preferences.
With the Dhahab series, ASUS is offering an alternative to conventional graphics card designs, using visual themes that appeal to specific regions. The ROG Astral RTX 5080 Dhahab Core continues this direction, combining performance-focused hardware with a stylized exterior aimed at collectors and enthusiasts interested in custom-themed components.
