Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Launches July 9 With Updated Visuals and PC Specs Confirmed

Ubisoft has officially confirmed the release date for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, a modernized version of the 2013 action-adventure title. The updated release is scheduled for July 9 and will be available on current-generation consoles and PC. The project is developed by Ubisoft Singapore in collaboration with members of the original development team, using an upgraded version of the Anvil engine.

The new version brings back the story of Edward Kenway with a range of technical and gameplay improvements. Ubisoft has focused on enhancing core systems, including combat, stealth, and naval mechanics. Ship battles have been reworked for smoother controls and more responsive engagement, while stealth gameplay has received refinements aimed at offering more consistent enemy behavior and detection logic. Parkour movement has also been adjusted, alongside the introduction of more dynamic environmental interactions and weather systems.

On the visual side, Black Flag Resynced features updated assets, improved textures, and rebuilt lighting using ray-traced global illumination and reflections. Water simulation, a key part of the original game’s identity, has been fully reworked to better reflect modern rendering techniques. These upgrades aim to improve both open-sea exploration and coastal environments without changing the original structure of the game world.

Console performance has also been a key focus. The game will run on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro with multiple display options. Players will be able to choose between a 60 FPS Performance mode, a 30 FPS Fidelity mode, and a 40 FPS Balanced mode, the latter requiring a 120 Hz display for optimal use. The same optimization targets are expected on Xbox Series X|S hardware.
