AMD has confirmed the launch date for two of its major workstation-focused products. The RDNA 4-based Radeon PRO graphics card and the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9000 WX Series processors will be available starting July 23, 2025. This announcement comes after both products were first introduced at Computex earlier this year.

The Radeon PRO R9700 is AMD’s latest workstation GPU designed for professional workloads such as 3D rendering, scientific computing, and AI development. It is based on the NAVI 48 GPU, which is also used in the consumer Radeon RX 9070 series, but tailored for enterprise environments. The R9700 features 32 GB of GDDR6 memory connected via a 256-bit interface and includes 128 compute units optimized for AI and machine learning tasks.

Performance figures shared by AMD indicate that the Radeon PRO R9700 delivers significant improvements over previous generation solutions. In large-scale AI model workloads, the R9700 reportedly achieves up to 496% higher throughput compared to NVIDIA’s RTX 5080. However, this graphics card will not be sold as a standalone product. It will be available only through pre-configured workstation systems from AMD’s hardware partners. These systems are expected to start at approximately USD 5,499, depending on configuration.
In addition to the new GPU, AMD will release the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9000 WX Series on the same date. The series is based on AMD’s Zen 5 architecture and offers processors designed for professionals working with demanding multi-threaded workloads. The flagship model, Threadripper PRO 9995WX, comes with 96 cores and 192 threads, delivering a significant boost in computational performance.

AMD’s internal benchmarks show that the Threadripper PRO 9995WX delivers up to 26% better performance compared to the previous generation 7995WX. When tested against Intel’s Xeon W9-3595X, the processor demonstrated up to 495% higher throughput in specific AI workloads.
The Threadripper PRO 9000 WX Series will be available in systems from major OEMs, including Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Supermicro. In addition, individual CPUs will also be sold through AMD’s global retail partners for DIY and custom workstation builders. Pricing is expected to start around USD 3,999 for the lower-tier models, with the 96-core Threadripper PRO 9995WX reaching up to USD 11,999.
