Akko Showcases Year of Snake Mechanical Keyboard and Expands Magnetic Switch Lineup at IFA 2025

Akko introduced its Year of Snake Mechanical Keyboard during IFA 2025 in Berlin, continuing the company’s annual tradition of combining cultural themes with keyboard innovation. The new release follows last year’s Year of the Dragon model and reflects Akko’s ongoing effort to merge design heritage with advanced engineering.

The Year of Snake collection will be available in three versions, with the Xuanwu-inspired model serving as the highlight of the lineup. Xuanwu, a figure in Chinese mythology associated with wisdom and protection, provides the central theme for the design. The keyboard features a CNC-machined aluminum alloy case, engraved detailing, and a gasket-mounted structure for improved feel and stability. It uses an Alice layout for ergonomic comfort and is paired with Akko’s mechanical switches, offering reliable performance for both gaming and extended typing.

In addition to cultural designs, Akko is placing a strong focus on its growing magnetic switch portfolio. Two new flagship models were presented at the event: the M1 V5 TMR and the MOD 007B V5 HE. Built for competitive gaming, both models deliver high-speed input recognition and refined accuracy. To address global demand, Akko confirmed that these keyboards will also be released in ISO layouts. The company’s magnetic switch solutions, which currently cover both TMR and HE technologies, now extend across popular formats, including 60%, 68%, 75%, TKL, and Alice.

Akko also announced two new premium product lines at IFA: the Gem Series and the Mineral Series. These series expand Akko’s design language with a focus on distinctive aesthetics combined with advanced engineering techniques. Positioned as high-end options, they are intended to appeal to users seeking both style and performance in their peripherals.

As Akko celebrates its ninth anniversary, the company reaffirmed its dual strategy of drawing on traditional culture while advancing magnetic switch technology. This approach reflects Akko’s broader aim of presenting keyboards as not only functional devices but also as instruments that combine performance, design, and cultural expression.
