Maxsun Plans Compact AI Mini PC Based on Intel GPU D270 Accelerator with up to 480 GB Memory

Maxsun is developing a new mini PC based on Intel’s Crescent Island GPU accelerator, bringing the company’s Xe3P architecture to compact systems designed for AI inference. The upcoming CRI Mini PC is part of a broader product lineup that also includes workstation and server solutions built around Intel’s GPU D-series hardware.

Maxsun outlined its plans at the 2026 Intel LOEM Summit, where it confirmed its involvement in developing and manufacturing products based on Intel’s Crescent Island platform. The planned lineup includes the Turbo workstation, a fanless server system, and the CRI Mini PC for edge AI computing.

According to Maxsun, the mini PC is being designed to deliver AI computing capabilities in a compact form factor without compromising performance in demanding workloads. However, the company has not yet revealed the system’s design or confirmed whether it will use the full Intel GPU D270 configuration or a modified version of the accelerator.

Intel’s GPU D-series targets AI inference rather than gaming. The GPU D270 features 32 Xe cores and 256 XMX engines, delivering up to 1.3 PFLOPS of FP8 compute performance. Intel’s reference design includes 160 GB of LPDDR5X memory, while partner configurations can support up to 480 GB. The accelerator has a rated power consumption of 350 W.

The large memory capacity is intended to support AI models and inference workloads that require substantial amounts of data to remain accessible during processing. Bringing this hardware into a mini PC could open up options for edge AI deployments, although the actual capabilities will depend on Maxsun’s final hardware configuration.

Maxsun has yet to announce pricing, availability, or detailed specifications for the CRI Mini PC. The company has also not provided further details about its planned workstation and fanless server products.
