NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 6060 could arrive in 2029, potentially leaving buyers waiting longer for the company’s next-generation mainstream graphics card. Hardware leaker Kepler_L2 made the claim on NeoGAF, suggesting the GPU would launch “much later” and questioning whether it could match the performance of Sony’s rumored PlayStation 6.
The comment followed a discussion about the PS6’s expected gaming performance and its potential competition with NVIDIA’s entry-level GeForce RTX 60 series. Kepler_L2 did not provide a specific launch date, so the 2029 estimate remains speculative.

Kepler_L2 and fellow leaker kopite7kimi have previously pointed to 2028 for NVIDIA’s Rubin-based GeForce RTX 60 series. If the flagship graphics cards arrive around the middle of 2028 or later, the mainstream RTX 6060 could follow several months afterward, potentially pushing its release into 2029.
Previous GPU launches show that NVIDIA does not follow a fixed schedule for its mainstream models. The GeForce RTX 5060 arrived less than four months after the RTX 5090, while the RTX 4060 took more than eight months to follow the RTX 4090. The gap between the next-generation flagship and mainstream GPUs will therefore depend on NVIDIA’s launch strategy.
The rumored PlayStation 6 is reportedly targeting late 2027, which would put it ahead of a potential 2029 RTX 6060 release. However, Sony has not confirmed the console’s launch date, and NVIDIA has yet to announce its RTX 60 series or disclose its specifications.
Memory supply could also affect NVIDIA’s future GPU plans. Reports have suggested that the company postponed its GeForce RTX 50 SUPER refresh while prioritizing AI products that use GDDR7 memory. NVIDIA has also acknowledged tight supply for the RTX 5090. Although these developments could influence future production plans, there is no confirmed evidence linking the reported memory constraints directly to the RTX 6060’s launch timing.
For now, buyers should treat the rumored release window with caution. If NVIDIA’s next-generation flagship GPUs arrive in 2028 and the RTX 6060 follows later, the current RTX 50 series could remain on sale for an extended period. NVIDIA has not confirmed the RTX 6060’s release date, price, specifications, or performance.
