GameSir Launches G8 SE Type-C Mobile Controller With Hall Effect Joysticks and Triggers

GameSir has officially launched the G8 SE Type-C, a wired extendable gaming controller designed for compatible phones measuring between 92mm and 172mm. The new model combines Hall Effect joysticks and linear triggers with customizable rear buttons, tactile controls, and a movable USB-C connector designed to accommodate different device sizes.

The GameSir G8 SE Type-C uses a patented movable USB-C interface that adjusts as the controller extends around a supported device. Its wired connection avoids the need for a separate wireless pairing process, making it an option for mobile gamers who prefer a direct connection.

For input control, the controller features a 5M Hall Effect sensor joystick and Hall Effect linear triggers. These magnetic sensor-based components are designed to provide precise input without the traditional contact mechanism found in conventional potentiometer-based controls. The ABXY buttons use conductive rubber, while the shoulder buttons and customizable L4 and R4 rear buttons feature tactile switches.

GameSir has also integrated a rotor motor into the grip for vibration feedback in supported games. The controller supports 20Hz button burst fire, allowing repeated inputs, while its trigger fast mode can be enabled through the accompanying software.

The main controller body weighs approximately 190 grams. A detachable silicone clamping pad is included to help accommodate compatible devices within the supported 92–172mm range.

The G8 SE Type-C targets players who want physical controls for mobile gaming, including titles that benefit from analog movement and dedicated shoulder buttons. Its combination of magnetic sensing, adjustable fit, and programmable controls gives users several options for customizing their setup. However, GameSir has not specified the controller’s price or regional availability in the announcement provided. Those details, along with a complete compatibility list, remain to be confirmed.
