HYTE has officially released Nexus 3.1.0, a rebuilt desktop application that combines PC hardware monitoring, RGB lighting control, gaming performance tracking, and system customization in one place. Available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, the software aims to reduce the need for separate utilities running in the background while giving users a central interface for managing their systems.
Unlike Nexus 2.0, HYTE Nexus 3.1.0 has been rewritten from the ground up. HYTE claims the application occupies less than 50 MB at launch and uses between 0.1% and 1% of system resources across the CPU, GPU, and memory. During testing, however, RAM usage reached approximately 142 MB, while CPU utilization remained around 0.2% to 0.5%. Actual resource consumption can vary depending on the system configuration and background activity.
The application monitors several hardware components in real time, including temperatures, storage, memory, graphics hardware, fans, and liquid-cooling pumps. It can also identify conflicting applications and close them, potentially helping users avoid running multiple utilities that perform similar functions. HYTE says Nexus can notify users when its monitoring system detects issues that may need attention.
For gaming, Nexus 3.1.0 automatically tracks frame rates, average FPS, 1% lows, individual gaming sessions, and performance history. These statistics allow users to review performance trends without relying on a separate FPS monitoring tool. The software also supports RGB lighting control through the OpenRGB SDK, bringing compatible lighting hardware into the same management interface.
HYTE has also added customizable widgets that can display system information, media details, and other data on monitors, all-in-one liquid-cooling screens, and supported internal or external displays. The company plans to expand compatibility with additional screens over time.
Remote management is another part of the release. Users can connect through a web client or the official mobile app to monitor and adjust their PCs when away from their desks. This gives users access to selected system controls without requiring them to sit at the computer.
With Nexus 3.1.0, HYTE is bringing several PC management features together in a single application. Its resource usage and compatibility will depend on the hardware and software configuration, but the release offers enthusiasts another option for monitoring components, tracking gaming performance, and controlling compatible RGB devices.
