CHERRY is adding a new high-speed option to its full-size mechanical keyboard lineup with the MX3.0S PRO, combining an aluminum chassis, 8KHz polling, 8KHz scanning, and wireless connectivity in a range of configurations. The keyboard is aimed at users who want fast input response without giving up the features and layout of a traditional full-size board.
The MX3.0S PRO uses a CNC-machined aluminum alloy body with an anodized finish. CHERRY has also changed the internal construction, replacing the traditional steel-based frame with a steel-free design and adding two layers of damping material. The company says the updated structure is designed around a different typing and acoustic experience while keeping the keyboard rigid.
At the performance level, the MX3.0S PRO supports an 8,000Hz polling rate and an 8,000Hz scan rate. CHERRY lists average USB latency below 0.2ms, while its 2.4GHz wireless connection is rated at less than 0.4ms average latency. These specifications make the keyboard particularly relevant to PC gamers who prioritize rapid input registration.
The MX3.0S PRO will be available in three versions, including a wired model without backlighting, a wired RGB model, and a wireless RGB model. Color options include Peach, Black, and Moon White.
Switch choices cover several typing preferences. CHERRY will offer Red, Brown, and Cherry Blossom switches from its MX ILLUMA lineup, while Blue switches will come from the MX2A family. This gives buyers a choice between different switch characteristics rather than limiting the keyboard to a single configuration.
The keyboard also supports SOCD functionality and can be configured through a web-based driver. This allows users to access supported keyboard settings through a browser rather than depending on a traditional desktop application.
For wireless use, the MX3.0S PRO includes AFH adaptive frequency hopping technology. CHERRY claims up to 420 hours of battery life when connected through 2.4GHz, while Bluetooth operation can reach up to 730 hours. These figures will depend on the connection mode and other settings, particularly RGB lighting.
