The new feature comes through a software update and expands what the EV63 can do without changing its existing hardware.
The EV63 is a 65% gaming keyboard built around Hall Effect magnetic switches, with features such as adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger aimed at fast-paced games. It also supports an 8,000Hz polling rate, making the keyboard part of IQUNIX’s push toward high-speed gaming peripherals.
With controller emulation enabled, the EV63 can send controller-style inputs from the keyboard. This can be useful in PC games where certain actions or movement systems are designed primarily around a gamepad. Instead of connecting a separate controller, players can use the EV63 to provide the required input while keeping the keyboard as their main gaming device.
The addition is particularly relevant for games where keyboard and mouse controls are not always the preferred option.
