Framework Previews Modular Mini PC With AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 and 192GB LPDDR5X Memory

Framework has given attendees at the AMD Advancing AI 2026 event an early look at its next-generation modular mini PC powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor. The system also introduces support for up to 192GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory, making it one of the highest-memory compact PCs shown so far on AMD’s latest AI platform.

The demonstration is also believed to be the first public appearance of a third-party device based on the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor. While AMD introduced the platform for AI-focused workloads, Framework is among the first companies to showcase how it will be used in a modular desktop design aimed at developers, professionals, and enthusiasts who need a compact system without giving up expandability.

Beyond the processor upgrade, Framework has made several hardware changes compared to its previous model. One of the biggest updates is the move from a closed PCIe x4 slot to an open-ended PCIe x4 design at the rear of the system. This change allows the mini PC to support expansion cards with longer PCIe edge connectors, giving users greater flexibility when installing compatible add-in cards. The redesign improves compatibility while maintaining the compact footprint that Framework’s modular systems are known for.

Memory is another major upgrade. The new model supports up to 192GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory, an increase over the existing 128GB configuration.
