Cervoz has announced the T445 and T455 SSD series, introducing a storage solution designed for embedded and industrial systems equipped with an M.2 2230 A+E Key slot. While these slots are commonly reserved for wireless networking modules such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth cards, they are often left unused in many embedded platforms. Cervoz aims to turn that unused interface into additional storage space, giving system builders another upgrade option without changing the overall hardware design.

The new SSDs use the compact M.2 2230 form factor and communicate over a PCIe Gen4 x2 interface. According to Cervoz, the drives can deliver sequential read speeds of up to 1,865MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 1,740MB/s. These transfer rates make the drives suitable for industrial computers, edge computing devices, automation equipment, and embedded applications that require faster storage while maintaining a small footprint.

The special edition of the T445 SSD is available in multiple capacity options ranging from 128GB to 1TB. Cervoz is also offering versions with additional over-provisioning (OP), providing usable capacities from 120GB to 960GB. Extra over-provisioning helps improve endurance and supports workloads that involve frequent write operations, making the drives a better fit for systems expected to run continuously.

To improve reliability, the SSDs include SLC write caching for faster burst performance, end-to-end data protection to help maintain data integrity, and thermal throttling to manage operating temperatures during sustained workloads. Cervoz also offers optional models with a wide operating temperature range and write protection, allowing customers to select configurations that meet the requirements of industrial environments where reliability is often more important than peak performance.
The launch reflects a growing need for flexible storage expansion in compact embedded systems. Many industrial PCs and specialized devices have limited room for additional storage hardware. Still, an unused A+E Key slot provides an opportunity to increase storage capacity without sacrificing space or requiring major hardware modifications.
Key highlights:
- M.2 2230 A+E Key form factor for embedded and industrial systems
- PCIe Gen4 x2 interface
- Up to 1,865MB/s sequential read speed
- Up to 1,740MB/s sequential write speed
- Standard capacities from 128GB to 1TB
- Over-provisioned versions available from 120GB to 960GB
- Supports SLC write caching
- End-to-end data protection for improved reliability
- Thermal throttling for stable operation
- Optional wide-temperature and write-protection variants for industrial deployments
With the T445 and T455 series, Cervoz targets developers and system integrators seeking to maximize the capabilities of embedded platforms. By making use of an expansion slot that is frequently left empty, the new SSDs provide an efficient way to add high-speed storage while preserving the compact design of industrial and embedded devices.
