Minisforum NAB9S Launches With Intel Core i9-13900HX, 32 Threads, and 2.5-Inch SATA Support Starting at $399

Minisforum has expanded its lineup of compact computers with the launch of the new NAB9S mini PC, offering a balance of high CPU performance, storage expandability, and competitive pricing. The Mini PC is now available for purchase, starting at $399 for the barebones version, while a fully configured model featuring 32 GB of DDR4-3200 memory and a 1 TB SSD is priced at $759.

Rather than adopting DDR5 memory, Minisforum has equipped the NAB9S with DDR4, helping reduce the overall cost while still providing enough performance for productivity workloads, software development, office use, and virtualization. One of the more practical additions is a dedicated 2.5-inch SATA drive bay, allowing users to install an additional SSD or hard drive for expanded storage without relying entirely on M.2 drives.

The mini PC is housed in an aluminium chassis that features a toolless design, making future upgrades easier. Users can quickly access the internal components to add memory or storage, while Minisforum also includes an internal SATA cable that connects the onboard M.2 SATA interface to the 2.5-inch drive bay.

Powering the NAB9S is Intel’s Core i9-13900HX, a mobile processor with 24 cores, including eight Performance cores and 16 Efficient cores, alongside 32 threads and boost clocks reaching 5.4 GHz. The processor offers strong multi-threaded performance for demanding applications, although the lack of dedicated graphics means the system is better suited for productivity and workstation tasks than modern AAA gaming or GPU-heavy content creation.

Connectivity is another area where the NAB9S offers plenty of flexibility. The front panel includes two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, and a 3.5 mm audio combo jack for everyday peripherals.

Around the back, users will find additional connectivity options that support both networking and multi-display setups. The rear panel includes dual 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, two HDMI outputs, two USB 3.2 Type-C ports—with one supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode—and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports.

To help maintain stable performance during extended workloads, Minisforum has upgraded the cooling solution by adding active SSD cooling alongside a flow-through thermal design that improves airflow across internal components, including the Core i9 processor.

The package also includes a VESA mounting kit and the required hardware, allowing the mini PC to be mounted behind a compatible monitor or under a desk to save workspace.

Key specifications of the Minisforum NAB9S include:

  • Intel Core i9-13900HX processor
