IQUNIX has introduced a new collaboration with Kodansha centered around the upcoming Ghost in the Shell anime, bringing two themed versions of its EV63 Hall Effect Gaming Keyboard to the market. The new editions, called Shell Core and Cyber Blue, combine the existing EV63 hardware platform with visual changes inspired by the cyberpunk anime franchise.
The collaboration arrives as anticipation builds around the new Ghost in the Shell anime adaptation, which is expected to premiere in July. While pricing and launch timing have not yet been confirmed, the keyboard launch appears positioned to support the anime’s promotional cycle.

The Ghost in the Shell editions of the EV63 feature a redesigned appearance built around aluminum construction, custom keycaps, and themed artwork integrated throughout the keyboard chassis. IQUNIX has modified the CNC-machined aluminum case with unique anodized finishes and design accents tied to the anime’s visual identity.
Custom keycaps play a major role in the design. The keyboard uses a retro-inspired font style that aligns with the futuristic and industrial themes often associated with Ghost in the Shell. IQUNIX has also included translucent modifier keys with matching color treatments, printed graphics, and anime-related text elements.

Another detail appears on the underside of the keyboard, where users will find a decorative bottom plate carrying a laser-engraved image of the anime’s main character. The added design touches place the keyboard somewhere between enthusiast hardware and collector merchandise.
On the hardware side, the core EV63 specifications remain largely unchanged. The keyboard still uses an aluminum plate, a CNC aluminum case, and a tray-mount structure. It also maintains support for aftermarket GH60-style cases, giving users compatibility with setups similar to those used by keyboards such as the Wooting 60HE series.

One notable hardware difference separates these editions from the standard EV63 lineup. The Ghost in the Shell models come equipped with Keytok Nova magnetic switches by default.
The Keytok Nova switches are lightweight linear Hall effect switches with an operating force range of 35 gf to 48 gf and 3.4 mm total key travel. Within keyboard enthusiast communities, the switches are often recognized for their deeper sound profile, smooth keystrokes, and stable stem behavior.

The switches also use a floating magnet mechanism, a design approach comparable to newer magnetic switch technologies entering the enthusiast keyboard market. The implementation is intended to improve actuation consistency while refining sound characteristics during key release.
