TOPFEEL Unveils W1 5L Mini PC with AM5 Support and Full-Height PCIe Expansion

TOPFEEL has announced a new compact system in its mini PC lineup, the W1, built around AMD’s AM5 desktop platform. The system targets users looking for desktop-class hardware in a small footprint, while still keeping upgrade paths open for storage and expansion.

The W1 comes in a 5-liter chassis, measuring 125 × 198 × 198 mm. Instead of a traditional internal power supply, the unit uses a DC power input, which helps reduce internal heat and frees up space inside the enclosure. Despite its size, the system is designed to handle full desktop processors, making it different from most mini PCs that rely on mobile CPUs.

One of the key features of the W1 is its PCIe expansion support. The chassis can fit a dual-slot, full-height add-in card up to 188 mm in length, although it is limited to single-fan designs due to space constraints. This allows users to install entry-level graphics cards or other PCIe devices. For users who prefer more storage instead of expansion, installing a half-height card enables support for two additional 2.5-inch drives, giving the system a flexible internal layout.

Cooling is handled by a downdraft CPU cooler with six heat pipes, paired with a 120 mm fan. There is also a 120 mm system fan mounted at the top of the case to assist with airflow. This setup is designed to manage thermals within the confined space, especially when running higher power desktop CPUs.

On the motherboard, the W1 includes two DDR5 UDIMM slots for memory, supporting standard desktop RAM configurations. Storage options include two M.2 slots, with one supporting PCIe Gen5 SSDs and the other supporting PCIe Gen4 drives. An additional M.2 slot is available for a wireless network card, allowing users to add Wi-Fi connectivity if needed.

While full I/O details were not outlined, the W1 appears to be aimed at users who want a balance between size and performance. With support for desktop CPUs, modern storage, and limited PCIe expansion, the system fits into a growing category of compact PCs designed for both work and general-purpose use.
